3月29日は阿美（アミ）族　郭英男（Difang）の命日です。
2002年に風邪の悪化による敗血症などのため、台東市で亡くなりました。享年81歳（共同通信社による）

郭英男は台湾原住民出身のミュージシャン。1980年代から文化交流を目的とした音楽会などで歌を披露してきたようです。彼の名が世界的に知られるようになったのは、アトランタ・オリンピックで流れたEnigmaの♪Return to Innocense♪が、実は郭英男の♪老人飲食歌♪のサンプリングに使ったもので、後日著作権巡る訴訟になってからだとか。1998年、78歳の時にファーストアルバムを発表しています。そのほか、民族音楽系のCDにも収録されているものもあるそうです。

台湾民族音楽についていろいろ調べようと思って、昨日から資料を集めたなかに、上記のことがかかれてありました。ちょうど今日が郭英男の命日だとは、何か感じるものがありますね・・・
台湾原住民の独特な歌声、音階が現代でも受け継がれていってほしいです。
